Matthew 9 — Jesus gets into a boat to go to his own country. There he heals a paralytic and then calls Matthew—the tax collector—to follow him. The disciples of John the Baptist come to Jesus to speak to him about fasting then Jesus raises a girl from the dead and heals a woman who had bled for a long time. Two blind men were crying out for Jesus and he healed them along with a man who couldn’t speak. After this and teaching a preaching in all the cities and villages Jesus tells his disciples that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
Matthew 10 — Jesus calls twelve apostles and gave them special authority. Jesus then sends out his twelve apostles to proclaim the kingdom of heaven, heal, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, and cast out demons. He tells them he’s sending them out as sheep among wolves so they are to be wise and innocent. Jesus then tells his twelve apostles not to fear people but to fear and trust God, their Father. Jesus did not come to bring peace, but a sword with his message of the kingdom and he tells his apostles that those who receive them receive him.
Matthew 11 — Disciples of John the Baptist come back to Jesus because John had sent them from prison. Jesus reassures them and John that he is the one they have been waiting for—he’s the Messiah. Jesus then denounced those cities that did not repent even though he did works. Jesus prays to the Father thanking him and stating that no one knows the Father except him and anyone he chooses to reveal the father to.
Matthew 12 — The Pharisees question Jesus about working on the Sabbath and Jesus tells him that he is Lord of the Sabbath. Jesus then heals a man with a withered hand but the Pharisees try to say that he’s not honoring the Sabbath. They then start to work on the plan to destroy Jesus. He withdraws, heals those following him, and orders them not to make him known. A demon possessed man is brought to Jesus. The Pharisees say that Jesus heals by the prince of demons—Beelzebul—but Jesus says he heals by the Spirit of God. Jesus warns of blaspheming the Holy Spirit and then he tells them that trees are known by their fruit—either good or bad. Some scribes and Pharisees ask for a sign but Jesus says they’ve already received a sign—Jonah. Jesus speaks to them about unclean spirits and then says that whoever does the will of his Father is his brother and sister and mother.
