Living Waters Church Family:
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
One of the things we need most in times like these is to be reminded of the truest things in the world. Unfortunately, during times like these, the first thing we often neglect are those opportunities to be reminded of the truth, because we’re now having to live our lives and navigate our days in ways we’ve never done before. Spending time in Scripture just doesn’t seem like the most important or convenient thing to do. What I’d like to do is offer some help.
In God’s mercy the people over at Dwell (an audio Bible app company) have offered a free 60-day listening opportunity for entire church families to take advantage of. All you have to do is click the following link — https://dwellapp.io/signup/with/LWCH — download the app, and set up your account. Once that’s done, you can begin listening to the Bible through the Dwell app. There are no requirements to set up a credit card or any sort of payment.
The app gives you the option to listen to the Bible read to you in different styles and different translations (NIV, ESV, and KJV). And there’s even instrumental background music! You can turn that down of off if it gets distracting.
This is not an advertisement for Dwell. This is not a push to sign up for a membership when the 60 days are up. This is simply a great opportunity to soak in the truth in a way that’s maybe more practical right now than sitting down and opening your Bible for 30 minutes.
Our God is the God. He’s in control of all things—even virus particles in the air or on your hands. COVID-19 is not in control, because it’s submitting to God. It doesn’t have a choice but to submit.
If those brief statements are difficult to accept right now, which admittedly they may be, then perhaps give yourself to soaking in what the Bible says about God and his hand over his creation through listening to Scripture in the Dwell app.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
