“Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:30-31)
In the 20th chapter of John’s gospel, the Apostle gives us the reason for why he wrote. John writes that Jesus performed many other signs while he was here. He even goes so far at the end of the gospel to say that had every one of the things that Jesus did been written down, the world would not have enough room to contain all of the books that were written. However, John says that the signs he records in the gospel are recorded for a purpose and that purpose if so that you may believe that Jesus is who he says he is. Namely, that Jesus is the Messiah (the Christ), the Son of God and, as a result, to have life in his name.
Gary Newton and I have recorded seven videos to coordinate with the “seven signs” in John as a way to give our understanding of what is taking place within all of them. It is our prayer and hope that you would find some time to watch the videos (the video link is located below) and give yourself to either growing in your knowledge of the Lord, which in turn positively affects our lives for him, or meeting Jesus for the first time.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
