Born Again
Unless a man is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God, according to Jesus. We are all born into this world through our mothers. But to become alive to God we need to be born again. This is an act of God whereby he causes us to become alive based on our trusting or believing in Jesus Christ. The reason we need to be born again was covered in Dead to God, but in short form Paul said it like this, “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,” Eph 2.1
The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us and compels us to trust him. When we do we are included in the New Covenant Jesus has established and sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.” Eph 1.13-14
