Maturing in and through the Word
Have your disciple read each passage from their bible
Matthew 4:4. Jesus answered, "it is written: 'man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
Bread is food for the body. What is food for the soul?
What words of God are most important?
2 Timothy 3:16-17. All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God maybe thoroughly equipped for every good work."
What does God-breathed mean?
Gods word equips us for what?
Proverbs 30:5. Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
God's word is what?
What is God to those who believe his word?
John 17:17. Sanctify them by the truth: your word is truth.
Reading God's word, the Bible, is important for your life with Christ. Why?
Hebrews 4:12. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edge sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joint and marrow: it judges the thought and attitude of the heart.
As you read God's word will it change you?
